Borealis Plastomers in Geleen, located on the Chemelot site, is part of the Borealis Group, one of the world’s largest providers of advanced and sustainable solutions in the field of polyolefins and the European market leader in mechanical recycling of plastics. Borealis has four production sites in Belgium and the Netherlands: in Antwerp, Beringen, Geleen (NL) and Kallo, as well as a service centre in Mechelen, with a total of around 1,400 employees. Borealis Plastomers is located on the Chemelot site in Geleen and produces polyethylene under the product names Queo™ and Stamylex™ on two production lines. These plastomers have rubber-like properties and offer the flexibility and toughness required in modern car bumpers, for example.

Plastomers and elastomers are used in the automotive industry, in wire and cable applications, in high-quality consumer packaging and in medical applications such as infusion bags.
With around 100 employees, approximately 120 kilotonnes are produced annually.
