Based in Worringen, a suburb of Cologne, INEOS Manufacturing Deutschland GmbH is the fifth-largest petrochemical company in Western Europe and the BP Group’s largest chemical site worldwide, forming the central base for all of the Group’s chemical activities in Europe.

With around 2,000 employees, INEOS Manufacturing Deutschland GmbH is an important supplier of raw materials to the chemical industry. The main raw material is light petrol (naphtha), which is produced in refineries during the processing of crude oil. This is used to produce over 4.3 million tonnes of raw materials every year. These serve as basic building blocks for the chemical industry, including for the manufacture of plastics, rubber and fibres. They are also found in solvents, plasticisers, paints, detergents, fertilisers and pesticides.
